December Buzz from the Hive

This “Buzz from the Hive” is all about warm winter   wishes!   After we  returned back to school from Fall Break we were as stuffed as turkeys. Our class loves this time of year. We have talked about  being thankful for our families, and now we are talking about the traditions we share during the holidays. It is  interesting to find out how we all celebrate differently. We’ve had some really exciting things happen recently. First, our class had so much fun at our Healthy Harvest. Thank you so much for coming and contributing. We had a lot of fun eating and making crafts. Our parents are such great helpers!. In reading, we have read a lot of different stories that have showed us how to evaluate the plot and what the author’s purpose it. We have also learned a new reading strategy. STOP! This helps us figure out what answers are SILLY, TRICKY, OPOSITE, or  PROVEN! Also, we have been working on adding details to our writing. We learned how elaborating details and events makes our   readers more engaged with our writing. In  addition to that, Mrs. Smith says we have become outstanding writers.  Lastly, in Math, we have been learning about multiplication and division. This month we have become math masters with our 5 and 10 facts.
This month’s top Bees to recognize are McKenna and Sebastian! Let’s see what all the buzz is about!

McKenna: McKenna has 8 sisters and 2 brothers but her home is still pretty calm. When she grows up she would like to be a teacher. Her favorite subject in school is reading. Her   favorite food is salad. If she could tell people one thing about her class it would be that it is sweet.

Sebastian: Sebastian has an older sister and his mom. When he grows up he would like to mechanic because he likes cars. His favorite subject is Math. His  favorite food is his Dad’s meat. If he could tell people one unique thing about himself it would be that he is in a bowling league.
